It's so difficult, but fun, to hear people hypothesise about one's work. Ngh, but have to fight urge to give anything away. Let me just say you're looking at the right visual clues. ;)
And mayhap have airborne kids become to recurrent a theme in Voidchild? I hadn't considered this before. :D

Horrible swamp vine tendrils? Beautiful image, especially in white. Not so fun for Mary.

Thanks! I think, unless I'm misinterpreting, what you're asking are swamp tendrils are an after effect of a centrifugal force. They're what's tugging at the box. Their origin? Mysterious... :x and you're right, Mary's not having the best of times right now.
