Looks like that no smoking sign doesn't do much good lol
If that scooter belongs to Mary I'm gonna be so excited for scooter-related shenanigans

That guy is a regular around the area who doesn't feel like the rules apply to him!
Unfortunately, Raheem and Mary can't afford a scooter. Especially not when she's being cheated out of a minimum wage! =x

As noted in the previous maybe if she cut her hair shorter, she'd project a better disposition and get more work. Perhaps that would counteract the entrenched xenophobia that seems part of the human condition.
It seems to work for the asshole smoking outside despite the sign saying otherwise.

People are people! I mean, I keep in mind that Mary is designed to be a somewhat spooky looking character but that in real life they would translate to difficulties with other characters despite the appeal she may have as a comic character. And as I've mentioned before, I think, Voidchild wasn't meant to be a comic about alienation of the different. I have some overarching themes for the comic. That may or may not relate to something like that, but are more focused on relationships and inter-dependency. THAT does not exclude touching on a multitude of relevant subjects though. ^_^

"...as a favor to your dad"? It sounds like Raheem needs to have a little fist-to-nose chat with the proprietor. Possibly followed by a foot-to-crotch soliloquy ....

Haha, I think no mater how poetically justified that sounds, Raheem is generally a non-violent person. Moreso in his later years. He may have other things to deal with when next we see him too. ^_^

Well, that's a little bit more bitter, but given that experience I wouldn't exactly blame her.

And that said, she's had a relatively sheltered life up until now as a child. The realities of growing up and doing so under extraordinary circumstances are making themselves known. Some sooner than others (how foreboding!).
