Voidchild is going to be celebrating a couple of milestones plus an anniversary real soon.
But today! We're doing a page that is kind of a bummer...
Uhm, the more celebratory stuff is on the horizon. Please look forward to that. ^_^

Yeah, a couple things are missing, a dad, a home, uh...the little reputation she had to begin with...this would be good beginnings to a revenge quest maybe, if only Mary had any idea where those beings came from.

No such luck! Also, she is maybe on one kind of revenge quest right now! Only towards herself.

Sounds like you wanted justice? Well, I'm afraid to say we might be lacking in that department. Will you accept a broken soul? ;)
Speaking of which, your very accurate about what's missing. That would be a healthier reaction, wouldn't it?

Yeah, of course they would blame her; humans feel this unequivocal need for a scapegoat. Poor Mary, does she even know what's happening? Will things unravel for clarification?

She's definetly having a rough time. And yes, the next chapter will provide some answers to some very relevant questions. But maybe a few new questions too. ;)
