Voidchild continues to be something of a bummer this week.

I'm planning that extra update this week, to celebrate that we've passed Voidchild's one-year anniversary!

It's a special update! Please look forward to it!

And there might not be much stress here. Only bummer. For everyone involved. Well, such was my intent anyway.

Ouch...so who didn't notice who, or is it who couldn't bring themselves to speak to the other after everything that happened?

It's open to some interpretation. But in this specific scene, Mary isn't aware that he's there or that he's leaving. It's a pretty big turnaround for someone who, just the other day, wanted to contribute and now finds herself shutting out the rest of the world.

Mary's emotional state...it isn't depression as much as simple numbness, as though nothing is real, and life is a story you heard about somewhere.

I've been there.....

You probably put it to words better than I could. The apathy that you're describing is one that I have no illusion that I can do justice within the confines of this comic. It is more complex than this story can tell, which if you've suffered through it, are aware. It's important for me to highlight this going forward that while I try to encapsulate this and similar subjects, that they are infinitely more difficult than I am able to make them out. I will, even though this is a fictional comic book story, do my best to try and treat any such things with respect all the same.

Actually, you're doing a pretty good job of portraying the feeling of disconnectedness. Just keep telling your story, and let the strange psychological manifestations fall where the may. ^^

Thanks! And yessir! Can't do anything but at this point! I don't think me modifying the story to be more considerate (if I felt that necessary) would benefit anyone anyway. ^_^
