Six weeks ago, in today's Voidchild.
Incidentally, I've been using a lot of tools to draw the last couple of pages (like posing programs and such). But I felt like I'm not learning as much by doing that, so after this page I'm going back to full free-form drawing to sharpen and practice my drawing skills more (sort of like how Mary stubbornly bangs her head against a wall trying to learn to control this power of hers).
You may see a dip in quality because of this, but hopefully you can bear with me! ^_^
As always, ratings, shares, comments and subs are all super appreciated and helps Voidchild get noticed so please consider it if you enjoy my comic!

aw yeah, coming back to the present. if not for revenge then i am guessing she leaves home to learn more about her origins?

Yes, we're only weeks away from our current time! It's weird getting to this point in the story really. Will I remember how to draw cities? =x
And she'll go into her reasons for leaving before we're done. Coming up in the final flashback scene! ^_^

Whoa, SIX WEEKS? That also explains a few things about the first chapter. She may have more control over her powers than before, but she's still only Journeyman-level (which, by the way, is appropriate , considering her current travels). Mastery is still a ways off.
Which is good for us, since it makes the story more interesting. ^^

Well, we did do a significant leap in time. I decided to do it in a single bound (and be clever about Mary leaping into the air) for this part mainly because of effect. =D
But you are not wrong about her being only journeyman level. Over the course of these years, she's basically mastered how to force the power not to blow things up at a touch or blow out of control. Its origin and potential is still a mystery. Those are the kinds of things she can't learn on her own.
The next chapter however, may (will) shed some light on this though. =x

No art is perfect and experimentation is necessary for growth. I didn't notice any dip in quality here and there's been tremendous improvement over the course of Voidchild. By all means try new things.

This page was made heavily with the help from posing programs. And it turned out fine, but was also less fun to draw than when I do more free-form. So it's also about that, freehand drawing to me is more enjoyable l, even when it's harder. And the next couple of pages are done, basically all of it, in freehand.
