The author, and Mary I’m sure, appreciates your empathy! ^_^

Accepting Amir's help gave her control back, it seems... but perhaps at a cost?

flashback time? I wanna know how she got here, was it as simple as just taking his hand and everything calmed down?

So during this day Mary ran out of control and caused great destruction on the amusement pier, then in the evening, an apparent void portal opens over downtown. Busy day. :)
I'm assuming that this particular flashback will cover the intervening time, and reveal whose project the portal actually is. The only question I have left then, is whose dissolving hand is seen in the last panel.

Portal, clash of some kind. It could be either or, but it's more likely the latter. ;)
This flashback will cover what happened from the end of the previous issue (the background you're seeing in the last panel is the final shot from the previous issue where Mary reaches out to grab Amir's hand) until 1:39 PM. Because apparently, Mary looks (physically at least) fine atm.
The skipping back and forth in time wis a story tool I wanted to try out for this issue, to let you see what we're building towards. But without giving away why. The thing happening across the street from the PIU is somewhat vague. I mostly wanted to get across that something violent was happening. ^_^

Ah, yes, Amir's fingerless glove. I missed it altogether. ><
Time skips are a good way to depict simultaneous events,or, as you are doing, explain large scale ones.

Yay! Thank you! I won't lie, it took me a while. I hadn't drawn anything like it up until this point in the comic so lots of prep. =D
