Mary's got 99 problems, but as of this chapter, a job ain't one!

Well, we made it despite computer breakdowns, day jobs and other delays! Thanks so much for reading and supporting Voidchild! =)

As for the "mysterious" updates. They're not so mysterious. Some really cool creators have contributed Voidchild art and comics for you to enjoy during the break.

Voidchild will be back soon! ^_^

Enjoy the break look forward to the mysterious updates haha.

Thank yoooouuuu! ^_^ I'm really glad you enjoyed it and like the ending. If Chapter 1 was about establishing the present, and Chapter 2 was about the past then Chapter 3 was very much about setting up the future.

Mary has her mission now. She's partnering up with Abe and the threats are converging! Stay tuned for that AND some cool extras during the break. ;)

Yes and all it took was for all of existence to be threatened to do what she probably wanted to do anyway! Sheesh Mary... ;)

Congrats on completing another chapter :)

So Mary has a path that's been set up for her, and a path that's she's chosen... I guess in the end we will see if free will is stronger than fate.

Thanks! It always feels both good weird when you get one done. =)

As for fate. Who knows if Mary is playing into it or actually making a choice? *faints from waxing too much philosophical*

I am so pleased that she will now be able to support her food and sleep habit!

That is, being able to afford food and a place to sleep habit!

lol, it's the bare Essentials for Mary. Maybe she can afford a new pair of shirts and trousers. Because I'm tired of drawing her in tatters. XD

That's a superb chapter ending. Love how it manages to tie everything together while doing so in a way that sets up where it's all going to go

Great conclusion, I'm glad she's got this job, it looks perfect for her ;)

I did enjoy this chapter, looking forward to the next one! Will Mary get a uniform? I suppose not, no one else does :)

Thanks! I'm also glad she fiiinally took the damn job. I've been trying to get her there for months. ;)

I don't know about a uniform, but she'll probably finally get a new set of clothes. And one of those darn licenses to practice so she doesn't have to get stopped at every corner by the law! =D

Well, as a start, your artwork has gone up several levels, scenes that you used to labor over are flowing much more easily, now, and your latest experiments are more successful than not. :)

Story-wise, It has been interesting watching Mary gain a bit more control over her abilities as she faces a truly "worthy" opponent (I use the term advisedly in the sense of "equally dangerous"), and it has been quite satisfying to see Amir's arrogant condescension slip a bit from time to time as she surprises him. ^^

As the comic continues, I'm very interested to see just what Abe can bring to the table (other than a "stay-out-of-jail-free" card), and just how long Mary's noble oath that no one else be injured by her actions survives the very real possibility that everything she holds dear might be destroyed by her lack of action. It's a very nasty real-world dilemma. ><

Thank you, I super-duper appreciate this thorough level of feedback! It's sometimes difficult for me, as the author/artist, to look objectively at my own work. So any feedback is helpful. In fact, I've edit my OP because your thorough and structured feedback reminded me of something...

Mary has suffered greatly so far and she's been more or less alone in all this. Amir's role as a "worthy opponent" as you put it is kinda about being able to outmatch her power-wise. But him and Abe are also about something else that might be even more important. It's difficult, both because I don't want to spoil anything, but also because I don't really like spelling things out or overexplaining (even though I realize I have done this on occasion). But their influences are integral to Mary's growth and/or regression.

I'm also very glad that you're interested in how Mary's oath (or zero tolerance) towards death is going to clash with her fate as the destroyer of all things (that's right, this author studied irony). Rest assured that her choices made here will play an integral part in how that develops.

Thanks again for Reading, supporting and all the wonderful feedback! ^_^
