I do like Mary's thought process here.

"I know the best way to find this lost child's parents! Take him AWAY from the police station!"

Lol, Mary tries her best. Though she was probably assuming this "little boy" belonged to someone who was working here. Playing dress-up or just looking sharp in general. But I don't know, maybe she's just had bad experiences with the safety of government buildings. ;)

If Abe wasn't so busy being late and/or arguing with his ex!

Hahaha this might be my favorite first time meeting for Mary ever xD. I really like the irony of his social stature and his...well stature LOL.

I feel like this will be a really interesting team dynamic. Even though he kicked Mary I don't think the boss will be a bad guy, just the disciplined type with a..bit of a temper x)!

Hah, thanks man. I really appreciate that. I'm excited to show you more of them as they get into some active cases (coming up in the next chapter ;) ). And you've probably pegged Morgan right. He does have a "condition" of sorts and in his shoes I wouldn't want someone rubbing my head like a child. XD

"...why haven't you briefed her on my condition?"

You mean the hyper-jerkism?

What we have here is a case of knowing who she is but not what. I know that reveal is gong to be a while down the road, but the anticipation will make it worth the wait. ^^

lol, more like the "spastic shin kick syndrome". =D Honestly, he's probably not such a bad guy. But it seemed appropriately angry and childish as a reaction.

And without going into details too much, you are correct that such a reveal isn't immediately imminent. Mary is nothing if not stone-faced, but a secret that big is a hard thing to keep. ;)

Glad you enjoyed it! I found it kinda funny when I wrote it! And you'll find out a bit more about the chief in the coming pages. =)

Figured the Chief wasn't actually a child. Too bad Mary didn't get the memo early enough.

You were onto us from the start I think. ;) and I don’t know, I think this introduction, as uncomfortable as it may be for Mary, will be more memorable. :D

"pok!"

Chief doesn't only look like a kid, he also acts like one ;D

But I guess it's bound to happen when getting treated like one over and over again o.O

Hah, I’m not sure one can work here without being a little immature. ;)
