Just like in real life, different departments of law enforcement hampering possible leads in an investigation by not communicating with each other. Sigh....I hate office politics :-(
I can imagine Mary's not gonna be treated much better than Abe here.

The Serious Crimes Unit and The Paranormal Investigation Unit have a history with each other. At least Abe is trying to work together here. But he’s not, like you pointed out, receiving a lot of support.
Mary, you’ll not is just arriving. Already being hassled about the whole “license” thing again!

Mary's timing there is just icing on the cake haha. Really liking the crime thriller feel here :D. Reminds me of Seven a bit, plus supernatural elements of course!

Lol, Mary arrives just in time to when they’re talking about “keeping things under control”. Her area of expertise...
And about Seven, I hadn’t thought about this but maybe Dick does bear a (very) passing resemblance to Brad Pitt in that movie. He’s based off a totally different likeness though but there you go. :D

Best Mary could get with such short notice! Having only been with the PIU for a week, but they’ll get the papers sorted out eventually. ;)

Lol, yeah I’m with Abe on this one. Especially if there’s been more than one crime-scene like this.
As for the girl, we’ll hopefully find out what happened to her in not too long. ;)
