The investigation begins in earnest! In today's update of Voidchild!
And can I just say an especially heartfelt thank you to old and new readers of Voidchild. Despite have taken such a long break, there are still people reading my lil' comic. I honestly wouldn't have expected that.

Only at the Serious Crimes Unit can you piece together a decades-old case in the supernatural!
Not often do I get to see crime-fighters get into what some people would consider the "boring" aspect of detective work; combing through their databases at a cubicle.
Love that first panel! Oh! And just noticed the "Serious Crimes Unit" logo on the building as well. Nice touch ;)

Its incredible what they keep in their records at the SCU. ;) Alas, this is a world where the mundane and supernatural are interwoven. And sometimes the former is the best place to start your investigation (since Deacon wouldn’t share details willingly).
And thank you for the praise! I don’t think much of my establishing shots but you’ve given me a lot of praise about them and I’ve seen you work so I’m extremely flattered!

Just want to point out that the backgrounds are really impressive here, which is not easy to do but creates a great environment and feel for the comic

Thank you so much! It’s a tricky thing to balance using backgrounds in order to create a sense of place against production time/page. Especially when they’re detailed. But establishing shots are a must! Glad you like them! ^_^

And I would be very impressed if you knew who or what was coming up in the following page. To the point were I would get paranoid! :D
