At least he was looking for someone who wore their heart on their sleeve.
That confident, reassuring look on Abraham's face is the best! I would wear a shirt with that classic pose :-)
By the way, Mary does look cute in that last panel as well!

Perhaps Abe isn't as complicated a character as Mary thought. =D
And thanks so much for the praise on the page's facial expressions! I am particularly a fan myself of that final panel with Mary. It's so rare that I get to draw her in any way goofy.

The most important qualities to some! Abe did witness som pretty selfless behaviour on Mary’s part back in Chapter 1.

If it was a joke (even I have a hard time telling sometimes with Abe) it isn’t helped by the thumbs-up pose. Very few people can pull that off and look cool. 😎

Hahaha love the expressions here and the comedic panel felt like an anime moment xD.
But yeah it's true like Sam said, could be masking some deeper motivation :O

I may have been watching some "h'anime" when writing this scene. =D
I hope, and try, to portray the characters in Voidchild if not with depth than at least with some degree of not making them too "on-the-nose". Hopefully Abe's weird reply here will make sense further along. =)
