Reveal no 1: The appearance of the monster!
Reveal no 2: Voidchild is going to be in color from here on out! Why? Because I felt like I wanted to try it out and I've been thinking about it for a while! I have no idea what I'm doing or how this works but I hope you'll enjoy the change as well as watching me squirm as I try to figure out values, hues and color theory!

it's tough cuz Mary's blue eyes have always been so striking in a mostly black & white comic, but i do really like the color on this page

I think what's going to be an additional challenge going forward with color, is composition and leading the reader's eyes to the focal points of a page. It seems like a thng that can easily become more confusing with color if done randomly.
As for Mary herself, I'm a number of pages ahead and (spoiler alert, Mary's in them!) my personal view is that Mary and her colorful eyes are benefitted by her color scheme and being a "mostly" B&W character even in a colored comic. Her eye color does have a special significance for the story and it's important to me that they still stand out going forward.

I especially like the addition of color in this page because it's a little more restrained and when you use it, it really makes an impact.

Thanks! I genuinely hope to keep it that way. Voidchild is never going to be the most colourful series out there but I do hope to be able to use it to enhance the feeling of the comic.

(I like the colors, they really fit the atmosphere. They're strong but not overly bright :D)

And thanks, There’ll obviously be some experimenting going forward but one thing I want is to have a colour scheme that fits. No pastel for this comic!
