Identity revealed! In today's update of Voidchild!
I'll excuse anyone who doesn't remember since we've been on hiatus. But the final panel refers back to Chapter 4 - Part 1, Page 18. At which point I was also still working in B&W. Hence why the version on this page has just a dash of red to match colors with the present version.

Always impressed by your deduction skills! It's a plant that I hope wasn't too obvious! I did try to hide her left eye behind the bone protrusion for the reveal at least. ^_^

No I still find it impressive. Those are the kind of details (especially how you noticed the "morphing" of her face) that any author is excited for their readers to pick up on! I mean, even if it's difficult to figure out what that might mean specifically it seems to have gotten you suspicious enough to start a train of thought! =)
And yes, it does turn the monster from a "faceless" predator into a person and a victim (in what regards are yet to be told). But I wouldn't want Mary and Abe to have an easy go of this case now would I. ;)

Yooo I actually do still remember that girl from that page, but I didn't put two and two together! Great/somber reveal, this whole situation reminds me of something I'd see in full metal alchemist :(

Well done! THat was pretty long ago! =D I was looking forward to this reveal. While drawing action sequences are fun I do want them to have some meaning and stakes. And "nameless/faceless monster" vs Mary probably wasn't as interesting as when we can see the face behind the monster!
And again you compare my work to the masterpiece that is FMA and that just makes me blush blush blush! =)
